Support Services

Support Services includes the non-operational functions of Fire District 1. The Deputy Chief of Support Services is responsible for developing and administering programs and systems to promote high performance strategies in order to meet organizational needs, vision and values including:

• Training. The program is administered by the Division Chief of Training; establishing annual priorities and goals within the department, to ensure District 1 personnel are prepared to respond to our rising service demands. 
• Information Technology. This program is executed by our IT Specialist who maintains the network infastucture, all electronic equipment, databases, platforms, licenses, subscriptions, and agreements relating to KCFD1’s IT needs.
• Logistics. This function includes the repair, maintenance and procurement of facilities, equipment and apparatus.
• Health and Safety. Administration of programs and initiatives that increase the safety of KCFD1 employees in accordance with applicable standards and recognized best practices.
• Compliance. The many areas of compliance in a fire department require strict oversight. This function supports the others by ensuring they are running efficiently and within the parameters set forth.
• Others. Grant coordination, community outreach, as well as,      local/statewide participation in committees and associations are also      components of Support Services.
