Professional Standards

Professional Standards involves the non-operational components within Fire District 1. As such, the Deputy Chief of Professional Standards is responsible for developing and administering programs and systems to support and promote high performance strategies; in order to meet the organizational needs, vision and values in assigned areas which includes:

KCFD1 Training Program, which is overseen by the Division Chief of Training; providing assistance in establishing annual priorities and goals within the department, to ensure District 1 personnel are prepared to respond to our rising service demands.
EMS Administration and Support Services, including interwoven coordination with the Deputy Chief of Operations to coordinate our EMS service delivery.
Logistics, including the maintenance and procurement of facilities, equipment and apparatus.
Health and Safety Programs
Grant coordination, community outreach, as well as, local and statewide participation through committees and associations are also components of Professional Standards.
