Community Risk Reduction

Welcome to the Klamath County Fire District 1 Community Risk Reduction and Fuels Reduction Page

The best way to protect your family and property is through vegetation management. A defensible space can allow you time to get your loved ones out safely in an emergency and will give the Fire District an opportunity to save your home.

Defensible space is the buffer you create between your home and the grass, trees, shrubs, or any wildland area that surrounds it. Proper defensible space can slow or stop the spread of wildfire and help protect your home.

Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1) offers assistance to property owners within the boundaries of the Fire District.
