FUELS REDUCTION

The best way to protect your family and property is through vegetation management. A defensible space can allow you time to get your loved ones out safely in an emergency and will give the Fire District an opportunity to save your home.

Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1) offers assistance to property owners within the boundaries of the Fire District.   View more details about the Community Risk Reduction Trailer Program.

MOBILE FOOD UNIT (MFU) - APPLICATION FOR PLAN REVIEW AND PERMITTING

The Mobile Food Unit Inspection Program applies to all vehicles that are equipped with appliances that produce smoke or grease-laden vapors. Mobile Food Units are required to be inspected annually, by the Fire Marshal or designee, according to Oregon Fire Code. OFC 319.1.3 requires all new and existing MFU’s to be code compliant by January 1, 2025.

SMOKE DETECTOR PROGRAM

It has been scientifically proven that a proper functioning smoke detector can save lives. Did you know smoke detectors expire after 10 years? Check the back of your smoke detectors for the manufacturing date. An expired smoke detector may malfunction when you need it the most.

KCFD1, with assistance from the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office can help provide and install a smoke detector for your residence. Please fill out the application fully and a KCFD1 representative will contact you back.  Click here to complete the Smoke Detector Program application and determine if you may be eligible.
