I started my career in the fire service 1991 and have previously worked in Baker City, Estacada and Washington & Multnomah Counties. Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1) hired me in 2004 as a Firefighter/ Paramedic. In 2019, I transferred into the prevention division as a Deputy Fire Marshal where I worked on an array of fire prevention items. In 2021, I was promoted to my current rank of Battalion Chief Fire Marshal. As the Fire Marshal, I oversee the prevention division and manage a multitude of prevention topics. Some of the topics I manage are (but not limited too) plan reviews, fire and life safety inspections, prevention public education, fire investigations, etc. I also manage a Child Safety seat program for KCFD1.
It has been scientifically proven that a proper functioning smoke detector can save lives. Did you know smoke detectors expire after 10 years? Check the back of your smoke detectors for the manufacturing date. An expired smoke detector may malfunction when you need it the most.
KCFD1, with assistance from the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office can help provide and install a smoke detector for your residence. Please fill out the application fully and a KCFD1 representative will contact you back.
