HazMat Team 4 protects life and the environment by responding to chemical emergencies and minimizing the dangers associated with them. We serve 1 of 13 regions statewide to provide response to HazMat incidents under the direction of the Oregon State Fire Marshal. Team 4 responds to incidents located in Klamath and Lake Counties.
In the event of a large or complex HazMat incident, Fire District 1 activates HazMat Team 4 technicians. This team is comprised of members from all ranks of Klamath County Fire District 1, and each person is trained on a variety of scenarios, detection equipment, suits, monitors and other tools that could be needed during a hazmat emergency.
