I am excited to be serving Klamath County Fire District No. 1 as Division Chief - Fire Prevention. I have 21 years of experience in the fire service and have served in many capacities throughout my career, including working on ambulances, apparatus driver and station captain. During my service as a Fire Marshal in the state of Utah, I served as the president of the Fire Marshals Association of Utah, assisted in the development of the state's Fire Investigator 1 and Fire Inspector 1 curriculums, and was an Adjunct Instructor for the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy. I have an Associate's Degree in Fire Science from Utah Valley University and graduated with honors. I am a certified fire and explosion investigator and have investigated hundreds of fires ranging from grass fires to large commercial property fires. In 2016 I attended the Weber State Police Academy and became a certified Special Functions Officer within the state of Utah and was the first fire marshal in Weber County to be law enforcement qualified. When not working, I enjoy spending time with family, hiking and camping. I look forward to meeting and working with everyone and becoming a part of the community.
I was hired by Klamath County Fire District No. 1 in 2004 as a Firefighter/ Paramedic. I started in the fire service in 1991 and previously worked in Baker City, Estacada and Washington County. In 2019 I transferred into the Deputy Fire Marshal's position where I work on an array of fire prevention items. I also manage the Child Safety Seat program and the procurement of EMS supplies and equipment. I am a member of the EMS committee and have assisted with the rebuild or new build of several of the District's building.
I was hired in 2005 as an Information Technology Specialist. I oversee the computer network infrastructure between the six fire stations. This includes managing and maintaining all the hardware and software. I provide all of the geographical mapping for the Fire District, administer the company web site and social media accounts, and process the required state and federal reporting for fire and EMS. I have received my NFIRS Program Manager certification through the National Fire Academy.
