community involvement

Klamath County Fire District No. 1 personnel take pride in our community.  We actively participate in events throughout the year, including public education programs at local schools and the annual Klamath County Fair.

Fire District No. 1 partners with several other local agencies to annually stage “Operation Prom Night”.  This program is a dramatic presentation on educating today’s youth on the importance of not driving while impaired, not using a cellular phone while driving, and to always wear seatbelts.

Our International Association of Fire Fighters Local 890 holds an annual “Fill the Boot” campaign to raise money for MDA.

We have fun with our friendly rivalry with the local law enforcement officers.  We annually participate in the Joann Burns Memorial Foundation Basketball game. We partner with the Gems for the Gun’s and Ax’s charity softball game.  Fall finds us on the football field for our charity football game.

The employees of Fire District realize the importance of being a part of the community we serve, and we are proud to give back to the community who supports us every day.
