for Paramedics (EMS, Non-Firefighter)

Klamath County Fire District No. 1 (KCFD1) is establishing a hiring list for Paramedics (EMS, non-firefighting) with immediate openings. Personnel will be scheduled to work a 56-hour work week (48/96 shift schedule) and are represented by IAFF Local 890. The Eligibility List will remain in effect for a maximum of 12 months or until exhausted. Based upon need, the District may consider lateral transfers of EMS personnel to Firefighter. Applications received after the first review date, will be held until an additional hire list is needed.

If you are a nationally registered (NREMT) Paramedic with an associates degree or otherwise eligible for Oregon Paramedic licensure and would like to work for an exciting fast paced, family oriented fire department we are looking for you!

Many of our Paramedics go on to other careers within our organization as Firefighters, Captains, or in Fire Prevention.  Paramedics and EMTs employed by the Fire District receive preference points during the firefighter hiring process based on years of service.

Klamath County Fire District No.1 is an all hazards emergency response agency, responsible for basic & advanced life support care and transport within our Ambulance Service Area. Our Paramedics are the best in the region and are supported by a progressive physician medical director.  The department responded to 7440 calls for service in 2017, 5804 were classified as Rescue & Emergency Medical Services Incidents.

This is a continuous open recruitment with the first review on October 29, 2018. Applications received after the first review date will be held until an additional hire list is needed.
